PROJECT UPDATES

Our recycling plant is coming along well! We are in the final stretch, and will soon be able to provide jobs to 200 unwed mothers and youth! We are moving with the speed that God would have us, and trusting Him for the next step(s).

We have officially established a thriving tree and local plant nursery on the Friends of Creation plot!

We have planted 2k trees in the last few years thanks to our volunteers and "tree prep 'gang'". Our tree preppers are pictured above. They dig holes for seedlings, add manure, and help water and weed so that our trees can grow big and strong!

We are incredibly proud to announce, that in partnership with local schools, we have been able to establish 5 Green Teams around Limuru! Our teams teach children the importance of taking care of the environment and encourage them to collect recyclables in and around their communities. We believe that this initiative will be helpful in not only creating environmental consciousness but also availing much-needed resources for development projects in the schools.

On Earth Day, we took to the streets of Tigoni to pick up trash and teach locals about healthier waste management practices!

Friends of Creation has been able to conduct several awareness campaigns through social media, community outreach, and working with Green Teams, local artisans who use recyclables in their craft, and waste management companies.

Being a Gospel-centered organization, discipleship is at the heart of what we do. We have started a Bible study program for teenagers and young adults living in and around Tigoni. Our hope is that these groups will grow and multiply and that more people in Kenya and the world will experience the transforming love of Jesus Christ.
